I got a new job from uni that sent me to live in the states for about 8 months, I had a pretty good time and because I didn't have to pay rent I managed to save a few quid.
When I got back last March (2007) I intended to spend the money I'd saved on a beach buggy kit, until I snapped, went to speak to the bank manager, and bought a beautiful baby blue 1987 Porsche 911 carrera 3.2.
It was a great car, but after I moved away I didn't really use it, especially as I was a little too protective over it, so wouldn't leave it out overnight at friends houses, etc. So she was sold!
I intended to buy a kit car, so that if i dinged it, I could also afford to fix it properly, then the seed of kit car racing its ugly yet oh so alluring head.
I went through various ideas of racing series, and finally narrowed it down to the 750 motor club, either in the kit car or RGB (Road Going Bike-engined cars) series.
I went to watch the racing at snetterton, there were about 12 Formulae running that weekend, I went and had a chat with lots of very nice people and finally settled on RGB. I put up an advert and eventually settled on Derek Jones' blue Fisher Fury class C car. In fact the car and Derek went on to win the 2007 championship. No blaming of tools for me next year then!
Here's the fury:
That's all for now, Dan
